Testimonios
Sonia Guillem, forkliftoperator
“In my job, I have to follow the rules and be at 100%, but I also have the ability to make decisions, which I really appreciate”.
With more than five years at Improving, Sonia Guillem previously worked in the logistics section of an industrial company and for another logistics company. She is, therefore, an experienced professional whose attention to detail and self-demanding nature stand out.
She loves her job as a forklift operator and finds in her work a perfect combination of high demands and autonomy: “In my job I have to follow rules and be at 100%,” she says, “but I also have a decision-making capacity that I appreciate a lot.
For Sonia Guillem it is very important to be working in the warehouse with solid operational criteria and, above all, to perform her tasks with an eye to the next shift.
She is an example of how excellence is also built from the warehouse floor.
Pablo Arnau, Organizational Engineering
“Here you will never get stuck because learning is constant and we have a lot of internal promotion”.
An Industrial Organization Engineering graduate, Pablo Arnau came to Improving in 2019 after a brief experience in another job. Since then he has helped design many logistics services and implemented new operational projects. He has also been involved in parameterizing the company’s IT system according to the customer’s needs.
Pablo Arnau, in short, constantly travels from digital data to the reality of the warehouse.
His day-to-day life is full of changes. “Here we have constant innovations, we meet customers from different backgrounds and with very different needs, and so we end up applying concepts from one sector to another. That’s how we achieve new business opportunities, which is what we are looking for in the company: to generate value for our customers”.
He acknowledges that the company’s pace is demanding but challenging. “You’re never going to get stuck here because the learning is constant and we have a lot of internal promotion”.
Mireia Gastaldo, Human Resources
“This company is a school of resilience and adaptation, which means that it is also an environment of opportunities”.
A specialist in Human Resources, Mireia Gastaldo is a professional who has been with Improving for two and a half years, after working for ETTs and large companies.
She began her career in personnel selection and has evolved into labor management, accompanying the growth of the HR team and assisting workers with the consultations they need.
“The best thing about my work here is what has allowed me to grow professionally over the years,” she says.
Mireia Gastaldo is forceful in her statements: “this company is a school of resilience and adaptation, which means that it is also an environment of opportunities”.
And with his expert eye on the human dimension of a company in full expansion, he knows that the professional development of people is an essential part of this company’s organizational strategy.
Rachid Kouicem, Administration
“This is a very demanding company but it doesn’t put barriers in your way. If you have certain aspirations, you will achieve them with hard work”.
Rachid Kouicem came to Improving in 2022 to do an internship for the higher degree in Administration and Finance he was studying at the Almussafes vocational school.
He stayed here. And here, in addition to celebrating his last birthdays, he has consolidated his professional career.
For him it is clear that the company has a frenetic pace and demands a lot of work, but it is also a place where the working environment is good and where efforts are recognized. “This is a very demanding company but one that doesn’t put barriers in your way. If you have certain aspirations, with hard work you will achieve them.”
He recently returned to his school to share his work experience with new students and was able to encourage those who are studying to apply “because this is a company that does not put up barriers”.
His testimony speaks of meritocracy and recognition: a culture in which effort does not go unnoticed.
Rocío Cotán, logistics coordinator
“Leading also means taking care”.
Rocio is a logistics coordinator and ensures that the assigned operations have sufficient staff and the right workload. She makes sure that everything goes according to plan. Although he knows that the most important part of his job is: “that the customer has confidence in us,” he says. “I know that mentality is not a common thing in logistics, but it’s a must.”
Before taking on her coordination duties, she worked as a stock controller. There she learned everything she knows about logistics and developed an essential ability to make decisions: “At the dockside, you learn quickly how to make decisions.
In this company, she has grown professionally: “Commitment and effort are valued here, but so is a good atmosphere. And time and professional and personal experience have given her key emotional skills for her current role: “You often play the role of psychologist with your team, but it is clear to me that leading also involves caring”.
Marce Emper, logistics coordinator
“Here, if you commit to the company, the company commits to you”.
In the six years he has worked here, Marce has gone from forklift operator to team leader and now holds the position of logistics coordinator.
This is a position of great responsibility. But he assumes it with peace of mind, “the peace of mind that comes from trusting your people and knowing that you can delegate to team leaders who understand your work style perfectly”.
He values two essential aspects of the company: job stability and the possibility of professional growth. “Here, if you commit to the company, the company commits to you. And anyone who wants to improve has real options to do so.”
He appreciates that the company places a high value on responsiveness and initiative: “I didn’t learn in books. I learned in the warehouse, knowing that every decision makes an operation work”. That is why today, when he successfully coordinates complex operations, he feels a special pride in the work he does together with his entire team.
Sonia Roig, controller
“The company has become bigger and that means more demands, but also more motivation”.
“The best thing about working here is the opportunities the company has given me and everything I am learning day by day.” This is how Sonia sums up her experience at Improving, where she has been working for three years now.
She joined after completing a higher cycle at the Almussafes vocational school and today she is part of a young, cohesive team with a very good atmosphere. Even at times of high pressure, such as at the beginning of the month, when it is time for invoicing.
Since her arrival, Sonia has witnessed a remarkable growth in the company. “Improving has changed a lot in a short time, it has become bigger and that means more demands, but also more motivation.”
He is clear that this project is worthwhile. And he especially appreciates that in the company people are recognized for their potential and not just for their titles. “Here we look more at the person than at the role.” And that, for her, makes all the difference.
Llibert Hernández, logistics coordinator
“You can have a career without having a very technical academic background”.
From operator to coordinator in less than five years. With this journey, Llibert represents Improving’s company style, which fosters professional careers.
“I started as a material tug for Ford. Then I was a team leader and now I coordinate stable operations”. He has only been in this position for a short time and, for now, he is taking it easy because “I need to train and get to know these new responsibilities well. There are a lot of them.
Working for a big company like Ford is a lot of pressure because you know that one mistake in your section can stop a production line. And that’s a lot of pressure. But he feels supported: “If you work well, the company takes care of you.
He highlights the work environment and the stability of the team as motivating factors: “We are almost friends in the team and the company allows you to grow without the need for a highly technical academic background”.
Marcelina Ramos, team leader
“The best thing about this company is the camaraderie”.
Marcelina (Marce to her colleagues) has been with Improving Logistics for five years. She started in the company as an operator after working in the logistics center of a large distribution company and other companies in the Almussafes industrial park.
Today she coordinates a team of five people. His operations include receiving goods from the port, handling cargo, and preparing orders. For Ford directly or for customers in the surrounding area. All, customers with high demands. Everyone, the kind of customer who demands perfection.
Marce feels the responsibility, but she feels supported by her team. “In fact, I don’t feel like I have power, but rather the commitment to make things go well.” She knows she is not alone.
Vicente Pérez, industrial organization engineer
“Here you have freedom and responsibility. There is no routine, there are constant challenges”.
Before coming to Improving, he interned in an industry where he found top-down organization and routine work. At Improving, he found just the opposite. The best thing about this company is that you never feel like you’re in a rut.
He started here as an intern when he was finishing his master’s degree in industrial organization engineering. Immediately after that, he joined the staff.
“When I arrived, they had just launched a major operation, but it was already up and running and I joined relatively calmly. Then I realized that the day-to-day work here is very intense.
In his position, he designs operations for customers, coordinates processes and links them with the digital systems. Once everything is up and running, he ensures that these processes are constantly being improved. “When an operation starts, it’s very hard. But then the machine gets greased and starts to flow.”
His work combines technology, analysis and decision making. “Yes, here you have to dare to make decisions and move forward.” And he concludes by pointing out the most stimulating thing about the company: “Here you have freedom and room for maneuver. There is no routine, there are constant challenges”.
